V.I.Warshawski

My guest post today at Catherine's blog is about private investigator V.I. Warshawski, a character in the long-running detective series by Chicago author Sara Paretsky. Catherine's home -- and the focus of many of her posts about justice and jury duty -- is Chicago, so she's also a fan of this series. I love the food scenes Paretsky creates, especially when V.I.Warshawski raids her poorly stocked refrigerator after a tiring day chasing bad guys. As I said, V.I.'s habits provide a dramatic contrast to the refined cuisine in Robert Parker's novels.
