Happy Hanukkah!


It's a few days early for latkes, but here they are. Unfortunately, some of our guests didn't make it through the snow, so I'm offering them this picture as a sort of consolation. Sorry, guys!

Did you do sufganiyot, too? Given our mixed family, we'll probably be doing our latkes on the 26th or 27th. We leave the 23rd and I'm not sure I can do the "holiday thing" right before the "holiday thing". ;-)

BTW... I loved the white sauce idea. What would make this casserole even better in C's mind would be no mushrooms and chopped green olives instead. The white sauce idea would work perfectly.

I've never made sufganiyot -- I've never actually been in Israel at Hanukkah, only in the spring, so it's not that familiar to me. Except that I've never met a jelly donut I didn't like at least a little bit.
