"Drinking Song"

Here is the popular drinking song, or "Brindisi" from Verdi's opera La Traviata. It's a cheerful song in a tragic opera -- the death of the character Violetta in the last act is very famous for its pathos. In recent weeks, to celebrate drinks of all sorts with a number of other bloggers, I've posted folk songs or blues, so today I made a classical music choice. I'm sharing this with the weekly event at Elizabeth's blog Altered Book Lover.

That was so excellent. I use to go to the opera often when I lived in NV. Haven't been in years. It is something everyone one should do at least once. Have a great day.

That was lovely! 'Beviam' beviam'! Thank you.
I used to go to the opera and have not been to see one for many years. During Covid several opera houses have been streaming operas and I have watched a few. This looks like a very nice version. I like Italian operas (as I speak Italian).
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

I wanted to tell you, I made eggnog ONCE. My recipe required I bring the milk to near boiling, then add the eggs. I wanted to taste it right away, but it needed to cool. It was winter, so I set it outside on my back porch and a dog got to it and drank most of it before I could run him off and fetch it inside. Never again!!!
