Looking backward through my past photos, I found these amusing murals painted on apartment buildings in Isla Vista, California, the student neighborhood near the University of California at Santa Barbara. We lived in Santa Barbara on a few occasions while Len was visiting to do research at the physics institute there. Needless to say, though I'm doing my best to live in the present moment, I wish we could be at a pleasant beachside town enjoying the sunshine instead of locked down in Michigan!

It'd be fun to live in a building with murals like that. The beach looks like a wonderful alternative to our chilly rain.
I like this variation on the Hokusai wave with its surfer, and its slight overflow at the bottom of the painting. I wish you a nice end of the year.
Oh you have me wishing for post-covid days and not winter. Happy new week Mae.
Hopefully you will be able to travel within America soon. At least the vaccine is being rolled out now in the USA. That means hope on the horizon.
I think covid fatigue is much worse during these cooler, dark days. I need some sunlight and a day that lasts longer than 4:30 pm.
Hold-on, Mae!
A few different waves :) How nice that the students housing have murals. Quite hot in my side of the world, certainly nice days for the beach, although I'm not much of a beach person.
Thanks for contributing to Monday Murals Mae.
I couldn't remember that was a Hokusai wave until I saw Kwarkito's comment. What a lovely area for students, Mae.
Wonderful variations on "The Wave." I found one in Chincoteague a few years back: https://webcroft.blogspot.com/2015/08/monday-marine-murals.html
