Ducks and Swans along the Huron River

Next to the bike path: a family of swans surrounded by feathers and down they were shedding.

Ducks on a log in the river last week. This week, the log and tree stump were gone -- must have washed away!

Lots of swan feathers. The mother swan must be molting. These are exquisite photos and a lovely area in which to walk, I suspect.

In your comment today about the "bathing machine," from what I read, it was mainly the rich who had access to them, although one site "suggested" they might be for rent.

I always enjoy your pictures -- so many great subjects everywhere one looks, and you find more than your share. Thanks.

You could collect the down to make your own pillows 😉

How amazing to see the family of swans and the downy feathers. Some other bird needs to gather them for a soft nest! Happy weekend.
