Nature Walk

Between rainstorms, we took a walk at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens Friday afternoon.
The wind was blowing the clouds and the flowers were swaying.

The gardens behind the gate are off limits this year, as are the greenhouses, shop, and restrooms.
Because of the pandemic, only distanced outdoor walks are allowed.
Fortunately, we enjoyed our walk before the rain started again.
Back home, I made a plum cake for dinner. Another sign of summer's end.

I like natures walks and I like plum cakes and fruit in general so a piece of your cake would go down a treat Mae. What a shame you're so far away. Enjoy your weekend, but do put a blob of ice cream or yogurt with your cake.

A plum cake for dinner after a great walk in the nature is exactly what I want!

It's nice that you were able to get out for a walk. The heat is what's keeping us inside right now. We hiked yesterday but it was so humid, the lens on the camera fogged up. Love that cake you baked! Any left? heehee

Nice views from your walk Mae. And the plum cake looks delicious. I got some plums while shopping this past week. I'm not sure whether to make a cake or pie. Happy weekend!

Nice walk.
In my family´s garden we had a plum tree. And just across two roads a food factory. When they made plum-jam and you didn´t know and had your fresh laundry on the line... go and repeat! Ewww that smell!

Even the flowers look forlorn. That gate is so pretty, and perfect for a flower garden. So flag you could do some of the walks.

Enjoyed your nature walk and your plum cake. I think my favorite photo was the one with the bridge and the water swirling. It shows how nature can get violent in a moment's notice. The rest of your walk was very serene.

I enjoyed the sights you shared from your nature walk. That's an inviting gate... too bad it's not actually inviting right now ;)

I've wanted to make a plum pudding but a plum cake sounds good too. it probably too late to try either this season.
