| Yes, pretzels from the Lancaster Farmers’ Market! |
We drove home to Ann Arbor on Sunday, after a very pleasant visit with our relatives in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Saturday morning we spent some time exploring the Lancaster Farmers’ Market. We have a feeling that it’s a bit different from earlier visits; specifically, there are more stalls selling commodity foods (like commercial candy and imported vegetables from Mexico and ordinary souvenirs). Quite a few of the Amish and Mennonite vendors are still there, just more others.

The pretzels look delicious!! Our farmers market is mainly locals selling local produce and items. A few tried to sell 'grocery store' produce and no one was interested.

I have not had one of those pretzels in a long time. We have a Dutch Market not far from where live, everything always look fresh and delicious. I like the mural. Pretty scenes from Longwood gardens. Take care, have a happy new week!

That looks like a beautiful market with lots of produce and fresh items. Somehow there is always something special to a farmers market compared to a supermarket. I enjoy going to our farmers market which is outdoors and year round - I love to support the local farmers. Lancaster County is beautiful; we spent a few days there several years ago and felt like being home landscape- and food-wise.
What a wonderful market and garden. So many beautiful colors and items. I have never been to Pennsylvania let alone, Lancaster. It looks like a lovely place to visit. Wonderful post. Happy t day.

What a wonderful trip! I loved seeing the farmer's market. Beautiful produce. I spotted fresh tumeric (which I have never seen) and the horseradish stand was interesting too. And oh that flower stall! Brings back memories of the Netherlands.
Longwood Gardens is very beautiful. The orchids are spectacular.

Wow on the pretzels. I normally see those at fairs in autumn. Our Farmer's Markets (we have two in summer) are weekend only, but the prices for fresh fruit and veggies is usually always less expensive than the grocery stores. The Lancaster one looks like our neighborhood grocery, except for the woman making the horseradish.

Longwood Gardens is 20 minutes from where I grew up. Such a beautiful place that I can't wait to visit again some day.
