Road trip day 1

We drove west all day…

We are doing a leisurely trip. We reached Rolla, MO, in mid-afternoon local time Thursday, and checked into a very nice hotel, found a nearby barbecue restaurant for dinner, and that’s all. The St. Louis Gateway Arch is the only landmark of the day, marking the gateway to the West as one crosses the Mississippi River.

Hello,
Road trips are fun. I like trying out the local restaurants. Neat shot of the Arch! Safe travels, enjoy your trip!

It's too bad you didn't have time to go up in the Arch. There is SO much more to see than from the inside of the Statue of Liberty. I have been up top of the Arch at least six times and I love it.

One of my professors suggested I check out Rolla while I was looking for a grad school. After a visit to MIT, which I didn't care for, I did visit the campus. Of course, that was when my focus was on engineering and not human factors.

Ah, I-70. Seems like you are now in my part of the country. Have a safe and joyous trip, dear. I will understand that wi-fi might be a bit difficult to access while you are traveling. I hope you are enjoying your trip.

St. Louis is close enough for me to easily go, and I've always meant to but somehow never have. The arch and the zoo... Maybe one of these days...
