Rain at the Outer Banks

The weather report for today was rain at the Outer Banks where we spent the weekend. Therefore, we left Kill Devil Hill where we were staying, and drove to Fairfax where we plan to spend the rest of the week and celebrate Thanksgiving. Here are a few more photos from the weekend.

We did a lot of birding!

Near the Alligator River. A beautiful spot,
but we didn’t find any birds here.

A picnic at Cape Hatteras, showing a drink to
share with the bloggers at Elizabeth’s blog event.

And another. picnic on a convenient bench at a beach near Pea Island NWR.
Birding and picnicking at the same time!

Bodie Island Lighthouse.

Looks like beautiful weather for your trip. We love the Outer Banks, although it has been years since we went to the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras. So glad that you had a great time.
Happy Tea Day and Happy Thanksgiving,
Kate

How wonderful the weather must have been and so nice that you were able to watch for birds while eating your lunch. It sounds like the perfect day, even if you didn't see a lot of birds. Thanks for sharing your diet Coke and lovely photos from your trip with us for T this Tuesday, Mae.

This is an area I still need to visit and your beautiful photos made me want to do so even more. - You asked about the German School. We are a Saturday school whose purpose is to teach the German language and culture. We have classes for both kids and adults. We are a non-profit that gets some funding from the German ministry for education and also some other German organizations. Our youth take German exams including those that would enable them to enroll at a German university and we prepape for the German AP exam. We are organized within GASANC - German American School Association of Northern California - and recognized by the German ministry of education (hence the funds). About half of our students are so-called heritage learners. During the pandemic, when we couldn't do in-person school but taught online, we added several "special interest" classes like conversation, creative writing, grammar boot camp etc. throughout the week. We are still doing those even though we are back in the classroom on Saturdays.

How wonderful to have a hobby that takes you to the beach in any season. The weather looks really nice. (I must look up where it is)
I love the photo with the light house. For me that sums up 'coast'.
Happy T-Day,
Have a great week,
Hugs
