More Pie

Alsatian Apple Tart.
Baked in the morning and waiting for dessert for Thanksgiving dinner!

Making the Alsatian Apple Tart. First make dough and freeze the pie shell.
Then bake with weights, remove the weights, and bake a bit more without weights.

While the pie shell bakes, peel and cut up the apples.
Each quarter-apple is scored but not cut through.

Arrange the apples in the pie plate, bake briefly, and add the cream filling.
The final baking browns the apples and sets the filling.
Doesn't that look delicious?

Meanwhile, a neighbor brought us a gift of a blueberry pie.
We are up to the challenge: we all ate some for lunch.
