Birds in the Rain

A great egret at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Ann Arbor.
We hope that the greenhouses and fenced gardens will be able to open soon.

A heron and two Canada geese.

A nesting sandhill crane.

We could see the crane's mate on the other side of the reeds.

How cool you have sandhill cranes. We don't get them here. I'm glad they build their nests so high off the ground too. Happy Friday.

Beautiful bird shots, Mae. The sand hill cranes are wonderful. They nest in an area about 50 mi9les west of me, so I have to travel if I want to see them. As for the geese, all I have to do is walk to the river, about 7 blocks from me.

Gorgeous, each and every one, but especially the egret. I haven't been to Matthei's botanicals in ages. It's beautiful.

How neat to see the Crane nesting! I've never seen one with a nest on the ground like that. Love this post and all the birds you've seen!

What a great series of photographs. I suspect that the rain didn't bother the birds at all. I am especially excited to see the crane on the nest. Well done with all of these images.
