For a Gloomy Winter Day

Some New Yorker cartoons from the past and present day, about pessimism, food, and Mona Lisa. And one with critters for Eileen's Saturday Critter blog party. Let's all cheer up whatever the weather!

These were funny. I needed these, considering what my forecast says. :-(

Interesting for sure. Food prices, food quality and food imposters always brings me back to the movie Soylent Green. :) Have a great day today.

I'm in love with all of these. I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried, but I think the Mona one was hilarious. These are really much needed today, Mae.

Love them all -- especially the food critic and the waiter!

I love the hamburger one. Could be true of many establishments. Have a good weekend Mae.

Hello Mae,
These are all funny, I love them all. Did I hear there is a shortage of cat food? Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

#4 reminds me of the Hot Dogs at IKEA.
€1 for all - that cannot be meat. We tried and promptly felt bad.
With #5 Louis de Funés comes to mind. Actually also with #4...

Ha Ha. I must say I like the food critic best. "Never a truer word spoken in jest."

That first one is sadly true. (Says I as I lament the overuse of resources while typing on my laptop, listening to music, and staying warm.)
