The long tunnel between terminals in the Salt Lake City airport is illustrated with beautiful murals, depicting the animals of the region. Here are a number of photos of the images in the tunnel. |
We walked through the tunnel on Monday while returning from our Arizona birding trip that took place from May 22-31. |
A description of the murals and the artists who painted them is available at the airport website. |

I love the stained glass window effect.
I love the stained glass window effect.
Nice stylized art. Too bad there were so many people around that it was difficult to get a photo without humans around. These were lovely, though.
I checked out the airport web site and love the flying machines.
Awww, beautiful, the first one looks a tad sad, though!
Wonderful murals. Have a nice weekend.
That's pretty stunning. It would make airport time not nearly so bad as it often is.
We often travel through Salt Lake City when we travel to Utah or Wyoming or other spots out west to rock hunt. The animal murals are a perfect depiction of the west, which has so much public land and natural refuges for animals in contrast to the east and my state, Texas. Sixty-six of land in Utah is public land, and 92% of federally-owned lands are in twelve western states.
Wow Mae, what a beautiful walk between terminals. Thanks for capturing it and sharing it with us.
Quel joli graphisme, tout en délicatesse. Un très beau travail magnifiquement coloré dans des tons pastels.
Love the colours. And the liitle lion is so cute
I've never been to SLC but I sure love those murals. That would be something I'd like to see. One day....
J'ai fait ce que vous m'avez demandé concernant le trompe l'œil de JR. J'ai rajouté une photo
How wonderful that the airport has such beautiful murals depicting the animals of the region.
The last two look quite nice too, love the pastel colours.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.
I love the animal murals! Especially the cute mountain lion.
Will we be hearing more about the birding trip???? Or was that in an earlier post? I'll check.
