Yet Another Quiet Week

A late afternoon walk around the pond

A New Café: Tous les Jours

New to Ann Arbor: a franchise of the Asian/Korean chain Tous les Jours.

What we ate with our coffee: an Asian-style filled donut with mango cream and a croissant. The overall style is a version of a French pastry shop, which is a very good thing! For example, another choice of filling is red bean paste.

Besides a variety of bread, individual pastries, and a selection of coffee: a case of decorated cakes.

Your week looks and sounds lovely even though it might have been quiet. I love the idea of a Japanese-French combo. And a bean paste filled donut. :) I've read that book about the Seine, and I liked it, especially the beginnings of the river. Have a lovely weekend Mae.

I'll have to visit Tous les Jours next time we're in Ann Arbor. The mango filled donut/cake sounds delish!

Sweet bean paste! Yes, I love the Japanese bakeries in Honolulu because the food is always high quality and not over sweetened. Let us keep the light of Hanukkah alive in our hearts all year long. I love you beautiful neighborhood. Thank you for your visits! Aloha

When I was young, my dad would drive us around to see all the Christmas decorations. I've never tired of seeing them. They bring such festivity to the neighborhoods. Can you believe I have not had one latke this season!!

There is so much quiet joy in your life this week---discovering a new place to eat, taking in the beauty of a late afternoon walk around the pond, looking at the lights in the neighborhood, celebrating Chanukkah...and, of course, the delight of a new book that focuses on one of the pleasures of Paris, the Seine.

Our week has been busy, but I'm not sure we accomplished much.
Lovely photos.

A quiet week sounds absolutely wonderful! We are busy getting ready for our son and DIL to come with our first grandchild (10 months old) for the whole of Christmas week! My husband and I don't have the week off, so I've been busy doing make-ahead freezer meals, until I got sick, which put a real crimp in my plans. I may be going back to work tomorrow, but we'll see!
I didn't really have time to do a blog post this weekend, but I finally took the time anyway!
Your latkes look perfect! We made latkes at Hanukkah every year, but now we have them at Christmas, because no one's around at Hanukkah. We used a sweet potato and white potato combo last year.
