Street Art in Baltimore

We spent just one day in Baltimore to visit with Miriam, who is now living here. She guided us around town, and we managed to see quite a few really enjoyable neighborhoods and interesting places, including her local farmers’ market, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Rawlings Conservatory in Druid Hill Park, and a couple of very nice restaurants. As we walked and drove around the city, I saw an amazing number of really wonderful murals, street paintings, and other forms of street art. I got a few quick photos, which I’m sharing today.

Quite a few food trucks around the farmers’ market are painted in fantastic styles.

In Miriam’s neighborhood, many row houses are painted in very vivid colors.

Brilliant street art. Every piece is excellent. I love the row houses. Reminds me of Haight-Ashbury S F, back in the 60s/70s.

Baltimore ? I have been there about 3 times I think. The first time, in Greyhound, from New York City when I arrived in the US – that was in 1961! Then when our youngest daughter was getting her master’s degree at Jones Hopkins and she lived in a row house near the school, didn’t see much then. Though she took me to my first sushi restaurant. Then last time while she attended a conference, we took care of the two grand children, one a toddler, the other an infant in a stroller, so we didn’t venture far from the harbor. No, I forgot we went to visit the French frigate l’Hermione (reproduction of La Fayette’s ship) when it arrived from France, but again in Baltimore's harbor, with no car. I wish I had known about these murals – they are quite lovely. Although we did walk to their little Italy close by and had a great lunch there. Have you been there, at Little Italy I mean?

Great street art My favourite is the one in the park. I absolutely love the truck where they sell clothes and hats. Baltimore seems like a colourful city. I actually don't know anything at all about Baltimore so nice to get a glimpse of it

Wow on ALL the murals!
But the biggest goes on the houses.
It´s so EASY to make a home a home with colors!
Ours is grey. With grey steps. A dark-red door. A sad sight. And no, I cannot do anything about it. 14 parties... we only own one condo.
But inside we have bright red, light green, orange walls :-)

I love looking at beautiful murals and city street art that is tasteful, not graffiti. I'll be posting some street art from Philadelphia which has some magnificient works of art. I'm not as impressed all of the street art in Miami that people come from all over to see- on the Wynwood Walls, yet there are "some" that are worth seeing.
