Another way to get back to normal: shop for produce at the Farmers Market. |
A beautiful utility box at the market.

All those beautiful fruit and vegetables to choose from. What a blessing.
I am amazed at how similar Farmers Markets look, whether in Ann Arbor or Wichita. It was fun seeing what you purchased and how you used those wonderful roasted peppers.
That looks like an amazing Farmers Market. Ours is a bit smaller but I love going and filling in our veggies from things we haven't grown on our own garden.

Nice Farmers Market. Those peppers are amazing.
That is a beautiful looking produce market
This market with fresh products is very attractive.
I had a feeling you were going to show that utility box mural today! It's really rather unique and abstract, but I like the colors.
I've never been to our local markets, perhaps after lockdown i can have a look. In answer to your question about eels, they are endangered here too, I've tried smoked eel but not my thing.
I always love a wonderfully painted utility box! 👍🏼
Haven't been to Ann Arbor for a while, haven't been to Michigan in general. Waiting for the covid madness to cool down.
I love markets like that. And I like the box
Great post! To be honest... the utility box is great, but really.. we have a (sadly translated to German) quote of Mark Twain on the wall. Ingo LOVES Pirates and we´ve been to Cuba. May I print that pic for Ingo?
Cool website, love the Pirate Code, hope they deliver to Germany! Will ask.
Very cool.
RE to your question as I think you might be as lazy as I am re-visiting comments ;-) Sorry if I´mm wrong!!!
Here goes:
Mae, it´s a serious subject.
1995 was my first visit to Australia and it was tough, seeing how the Aborigines "live".
Alcohol is a very huge problem as they fail to build it back, like the Indigenous peoples of the Americas.
Problems finding education and hence proper jobs...
1999 we saw huge progress, but even 2019 I saw sad scenes.
I think art helps them big.
You should visit and hear them play the didgeridoo - Ingo has one from Alice Springs - he should practice (I´m too dumb!).
It´s a difficult subject.
A very colorful reportage of the market and a great utility box. Likes it all.
To Iris -- you are welcome to print the photo!
About the Australian natives: there are many books & documentaries about their lives and the rough way they have been driven out of their traditional lifeways. I'm especially interested in the way their art has developed from private, inside and ephemeral works to a more western and commercial version.
Farmers markets are becoming very popular. Sweet potato pie, that should be nice :) Roasted peppers, love them.
It's a lovely utility box, thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.
My kind of place! About my post, blue four-eyed woman, I give you a hint: there is a gondola on her back... It is not Las Vegas! lol
I think Kate and I were the only people wearing masks at the farmers market up north. This looks like a really good one. Is it the one in Kerrytown?
The peaches look very good to me. Nice market!
Fine images! I love the Mark Twain quote.
I love a good farmers market. Recently went to one out of state that I need to post about. Love the Twain quote!
