Where Would I Like to Be?

With little hope of travel soon, all New Year's plans are pretty glum. We don't know when vaccine distribution will reach us, or will reach enough people to make travel possible. Here are a few places I would love to go when the moment arrives -- all photos from earlier blog posts, © 2021.

Where I want to be:

In Evelyn's back yard, Fairfax, VA.
Above all, I want to see my family!

On a Lindblad cruise!
Top of the wish list: Iceland. We were booked to
go there in the summer of 2020. Didn't.

In Paris!

In Japan! I've only seen Mount Fuji once from far away.
I would like to see it again.

In Hawaii! This is the native Hawaiian owl, the Pueo.
Birding in special locations is one of the activities we miss greatly.

An an art museum anywhere! This is the courtyard of
the Art Institute of Chicago.

UPDATE: London.

Jeanie  said to add London. Here are the bridges along the Thames from the Milenium Bridge.

I am with you. I was suppose to go to Iceland in early October, and didn't. Hawaii was on my list too, and didn't. London also, nope. I have a feeling 2021 travel will not be as big and exciting as I want it to be, but maybe at least by late summer or fall I can get out and about more and maybe even a driving vacation. Something. Like you, I miss it. I hope you get to see your family soon. That is probably more important than all the other trips. Happy 2021 and keeping my fingers crossed vaccines will be here before too long. A least before July. Hugs-Erika

I am hopeful.

Happy New Year Mae! :) I hope you will be able to travel in 2021! I'm just the opposite, I have no desire to leave my home most times. I have a few places I want to visit, but they are really not too far away, a few hours drive that's all! :)

You show great places to visit. It has been a difficult year for those of us who love to travel or enjoy visits with family and friends. I have had no one in my house since March. I see people in their cars while driving to and from Georgia, or saw people in the queue to vote in GA but that’s about it, apart from the grocery stores. Not much talking. I sometime stay on the front porch so I can say hi to the mailwoman; pitiful.

My younger daughter had already booked hotel and bought flights to celebrate my birthday in Miami last March (where I had never been.) Did not go. Was supposed to visit my cousin in her new place in Colmar, near Strasbourg, France. Did not go. Was supposed to take other daughter to NYC for her birthday, did not go. Was planning a trip to New Zealand and New Caledonia – well you see I can go on. Hopefully we’ll all be able to go somewhere, at least by fall. Wishing you a happy 2021 and the realization of your trips.

Yes!!! I want to be able to visit my kids, go to art galleries and museums and take a road trip with Mr. M. I have hope for 2021 so maybe we will be able to do all the things we are longing for. Have a wonderful day.

They promised I could live on the Mars Colony. Since I can't have that, I'll just stay home ;)

I would someday like to take a cross-country train trip, though...

Paris is on my list as well, but first family! I hope you get to see yours soon.

Yes, we dwell on lost travels also.
Glad we have - and can share! - memories.
To hopes. To solutions.

Those would all be fantastic places to go. Let's hope that this is all over soon.

We had a one month cruise planned to China, Vietnam, Japan, Cambodia, etc. We were scheduled for February. Of course we cancelled and I decided not to reschedule. No interest in going to China or anywhere near China now..

I wouldn't mind being any of those places! And add London to the list!

Nice image! Yes, that's first on the Jeanie list!
