Spring, Advancing

Just after sunrise.
Herb seeds sprouting.
Plum blossom petals falling like snow.

The rain finally stopped and the temperature by midday rises to 15C...it's really pleasant and beautiful. Happy Spring, Mae!

Pretty! Nothing like Spring flowers to cheer a person up, now if it would just warm up!

Mrs KR loves to garden, and our entire (small) backyard is flowers and ferns. And herbs and some lettuce plants -- gotta have those. :-)

Yes spring is advancing and I can only watch it from my window or front porch. Since March 15 I have only gone out once, to the drugstore with a side trip to a park next to it. I have walked on my street twice, about 3 houses down to take pictures of flowers, and that’s all. I received delivered food twice. It is so tempting to walk outside.

I hope to get back to GA in June, but who knows? I like your pictures and the idea of sprouting herbs. Actually, I have a question for you on spices but I’ll send you an email.

Dearest Mae,
Kudos to you for speaking out on Sami's blog about her mocking the Japanese cultural history of noodle slurping.
When over there, it is good manners for doing so―a sign that you're enjoying your food.
While I was in Japan, I enjoyed their food and their entire culture and respected it above all.
Lucky you for spotting this Baltimore Oriole at the Arboretum.
Hugs,
Mariette

Mae I really love that stone house detail on that garden! It looks very cute! Thank you for sharing these sprouts and blooms! Spring really is there in Michigan! We don;t have spring here, we only have Summer, Rainy, Summer, Super Summer and the one's we are in now, Oven-Baked Summer.

A great sign of life! What is the stone structure in the first photo?

To those of you who asked about the stone sculpture: I think it's a lantern, and intended to be in a Japanese garden style. You can see two Japanese red maple trees nearby, and this neighbor's garden also has other Japanese-style garden ornaments. I just love it!

be well... mae

That oriole is beautiful.

I got a late start on my seeds. I'm beginning to see pinpricks of green but it will be awhile. I'm glad the perennial herbs are doing well!
