A Red-Cockaded Woodpecker. A new species — or “lifer” — for us. |
Five of the participants on our birding tour this morning. There are seven of us plus our guide. |
One of the many, many warblers we saw today. Unlike most dedicated birders, I’m not really fond of seeing warblers. I like big birds… |
… and we did see one wonderful big bird: this Swallow-Tail Kite. (Len’s photo.) |

Texas is a great place for birdwatching. Great shots of the Warbler and Kite. Congrats on your lifer! The desserts look yummy. Take care, have a wonderful week!
Sounds pretty terrific. Are you anywhere near Readerbuzz? Have a great time!
It sounds like a good day. That kite has a fabulous tail.
I want pie. I don't know one bird from another, but I KNOW pie!
It verges on heresy to say that you are not fond of seeing warblers!
That kite is really eye-catching!
I'm a warbler fan, but those little birds are so difficult to see, I think. Jasper is almost too far away for a day trip, but seeing that new-to-me woodpecker makes a visit very tempting.
