A Visit to Galveston

What fun to meet a fellow blogger! Here I am with Debbie Nance from Readerbuzz.
Len and I drove down from Houston to Galveston to meet Debbie and her husband Jim.
We enjoyed oysters and pecan pie for lunch at one of her favorites on the waterfront, Gaido’s.

The beach in front of the restaurant.

After lunch, we also looked at a few water birds.
A lovely way to spend our last day in Texas.

We had dinner at Gaidos on our recent drive through the gulf coast. It was delicious. It is a nice place to meet.

I am delighted I got to meet you in person and spend time with you, Mae. You are kind and funny and thoughtful. What an interesting life you have led! I feel like you need to compile your blog posts one day into a collection of photos and stories of all the places you have traveled and all the wonderful meals you have made, and share them in a book with all of us.

I am so excited you two met! I've felt like you might both be kindred spirits, loving birds and books as you both do! Sounds great!

How cool is that! I was fortunate enough to meet Gretel (Middle of Nowhere blog) when we visited England in 2016. And Dave Tabler of Appalachian History blog, and a couple others. It is always such a treat to put the real voice with the written one.

That's great that you meant Debbie in real life -- that feels like a little bit of a connection for all of us who participate in Sunday Salon.
