In My Garden

On a rainy day in our yard, the birds and animals are very ordinary. A real birder would scoff…

The world’s least interesting bird?

Bad bunnies eat our hostas.

I think this is the cardinal’s nest in the bush by the front door.

Hello,
You have wonderful wildlife sightings in your garden. The bunnies, chipmunks and the Cardinal on the nest are great captures. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.

It must be a beautiful garden for it to be such a refuge or stopover for so many animals.

I wonder why it is that we turn away from the birds that frequent our feeders. When I was at Quintana Beach during the huge bird migration this spring, I heard a report that a Northern Parula was posing in the coralbean plants. My first thought was, I've already seen a Northern Parula. I'm so glad that I decided to wander down there anyway. I was completely charmed by this bird.

Oh, I still get excited about cardinals at the feeders! I just fed them this morning and the squirrels are already trying to steal everything. We also have a couple of towhees hanging about this time of year.
Love the chipmunks!

Nice to see the critters in your yard. I don't want them in mine. LOL they eat my garden. Have a great day today.

How can something so cute as a chipmunk be so annoying. We have so many in our yard that the race is one each year for tomatoes. I had no idea they were such good climbers. For the record, the chipmunks are way ahead of us when it comes to our home grown tomato consumption.

The bunnies are leaving my hostas alone but the other evening I saw a great big doe take a huge chunk of hosta leaf off the plant and chomp it down!

I love your birds but that little chipmunk wins as my fav today! We don't see those around here. What a cutie!

WE do not get chipmunks around where I live in Pennsylvania , but they are so cute. My son has them in New York. We just put our bird feeder out today ( just got back from Florida) and are hoping we don't have the squirrel issues that we had last summer.

Nice pics. We have those same uninteresting birds at our feeder! Only sparrows!
