Birding at Magee Marsh

Seeing an owl always makes a birding day into a good birding day.
We spent much of Tuesday at Magee Marsh on the shore of Lake Erie.

There were swallows everywhere.

This woodpecker was looking out of his hole.

The woodpecker soon flew away.

A Yellow Warbler: one of many.
Numerous species of warbler migrate through Magee Marsh each May.

A Tennessee warbler.

A family of Killdeer chicks.

A Baltimore Oriole.

 An Eastern Kingbird.

A Magnolia Warbler.

Other birders at the marsh.

 More birders.

Hello,

Great post and photos. The birds are all beautiful. I love the cute Killdeer chicks and the screech owl. Magee Marsh is one of my favorite places to see the birds. I went with some birding friends and the boardwalk was crowded with birders and lots of beautiful warblers. Take care, enjoy your day!

Great owl pictures! We have owls around here -- can often hear them at night. And one sometimes roosts in our neighbor's tree. Fun post -- thanks.

That's a well-camouflaged owl! You have such variety in your bird population. Cool!

I would love to see an owl. I've never seen one in the wild, though I've often heard them.

The warblers are wonderful, too. I've never seen any of these.

Wow! Fabulous bird photos. I also am stopping by to tell you that I can't post comments from my iPad, only from my laptop! Elizabeth's is the exception as for some reason her blog takes my comments from my ipad. At other blogs it gives me an error. Ugh! electronics, one big headache. Anyway, I got your t day comment. Hugs.

Wow! The photos of the owl are amazing. You should enter them into a wildlife competition.

That first photo doesn't look real...it looks like it's carved into the wood! How amazing! You had sharp eyes to even see it. But you're right, seeing an owl makes for a great day! Love all of the photos!

You were able to take such good pictures at Magee Marsh. We saw a Baltimore Oriole there that wouldn't stay in one place long enough for a photo.
