Swedish Cardamom Knots for Breakfast

Len baked these wonderful sweet rolls today. Cardamom is more subtle than cinnamon.

Rolling, filling, cutting, and knotting the rolls is tricky!

The recipe is from Epicurious: "Cardamom Knots." The wonderful Swedish name is: "KARDEMUMMABULLAR," A contestant on the Great British Baking Show once made a very complicated version (recipe here), but I think the epicurious recipe is perhaps close to the traditional one.

Fresh from the oven!

Looks delish! Cardamom is an essential flavoring ingredient in most Indian desserts.

DIL3 is Swedish and last year at Christmas she made us these wonderful rolls. Fortunately she made many so we were able to freeze some and have them throughout the winter. This Christmas they will be in Sweden and I can only imagine all the traditional treats they will be having! (Not to mention the fun of just being there)
