A sketch by Van Gogh made into a mural in the museum. |
Dramatic murals on the staircase between floors of the Klimt exhibit. |
Reproduction of Klimt’s murals for the Vienna Session. Klimt painted famous and very controversial murals for several venues, but eventually gave up making murals because of so much criticism. |
I very much enjoyed the experience of seeing the work of Klimt as well as the huge collection of Van Gogh paintings in this museum in Amsterdam on my trip there earlier this month.
Now I'm back home, and doing my usual thing with blogs. This post is now linked to Monday Murals at Sami's blog -- check this out if you like murals!

I think of you every time I see murals. And there were plenty in Amsterdam.
That 3-D mural is out of this world. I loved the Klimt semi-erotic murals, too. Those are the ones I am most familiar with (from art books).
The Van Gogh is from his early days. It certainly is large. I like how it has been turned into a mural.
The 3D one is impressive, but... my fav is the first one. Such a lovely scene...
Hello,
I love all the murals. The 3D mural is cool.
Have a great day and happy new week!
This museum has been on my bucket list. It's interesting to see the Klimts and their lucious golds. Happy rest of the weekend Mae. hugs-Erika
Now that's something I would gladly pay to see.
I love the works of both Van Gogh and Klimt so appreciate this post. I enjoyed the Van Gogh museum in the Netherlands and the Klimt works in Vienna when I lived in Europe.
As far as art is concerned, we are lucky here, in this small country. I've often been to the van Gogh, but I don't really like Klimt and so I didn't see those murals. Not yet...
Welcome back from your lovely trip Mae.
That first Van Gogh mural is beautiful.
I like Klimt's art and that 3D mural is fantastic!
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.
Very nice view of the exposition about Klimt. I still have to go there before its gone again.
Looks like great exhibitions.
