Cookbooks from our collection. |
Recently we — especially Len — have been experimenting with Asian recipes. This is both a lot of work and a lot of fun. He’s tried a number of new techniques and flavors. Here are a few photos of some of these dishes.

Asian food is one of my favorites. Your bao buns look delicious along with everything else. I haven't tried the pre made samosa's but may now that you've reported they are good. I love to make my own.
Culinary adventures - now I am all hungry (just had a cheese-bread, how boring).
Everything looks delicious. I had not considered getting frozen pakora or samosas, but you have changed my mind.
Note about the pakoras and samosas: I tried only one brand of each item. These particular ones, which were imported, were good, I thought, but I don't know about any other brands.
I like most Asian foods, the steamed fish looks yumy.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Oh yum!
I love Asian food and often cook it, most from memory of what I ate while I was living in Taiwan. You have some very lovely plates on your table.
If it's Asian, I love it. From Chinese to Indian to Vietnamese, I absolutely can't get enough. That fish looked wonderful. And of course, you reminded me that I haven't eaten yet. Everything looks so good. Thanks for sharing these wonderful Asian inspired meals and your wine and water with us for T this week, Mae. LOVE those buns.
How fun. Lots of Asian food is so yummy, so if Len's kitchen experimenting has come out tasty, you have been eating well. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
OK... the only thing that I can say it.... I want to come live at your house! LOL Ohhh what fun and such delishes looking food. Well I said more. Thank you for sharing such a delightful post.
What fun! That looks great!
I also made bao buns this weekend. I've never tried them before so it was interesting to see yours. And I'm glad you used a conventional steamer.
I love Asian food, so tasty, but I think it's hard to make at home! Hapy T Day, Valerie
Wow, you have been adventurous! Love the pictures - all the food looks fabulous and I love those books (they make me want to go buy one and try some new noodle dishes). Fun post, Mae. Happy T-day.
I don't normally have the ingredients to do this (Rick is better than me -- you will always find him with a lot of Japanese ingredients). That looks like such fun -- and so delish, too!
I've never cooked Asian food, and I don't think I ever will. I don't seem to have a taste for it.
It's such fun trying our new recipes and your Asian food looks so delicious - yum 😊. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
Everything looks beautiful and delicious. I find if I'm preparing a cuisine that is new and I'm not familiar with, the prep is time consuming and there are so many pots, pans, bowls, and dishes to clean up. 😺 Happy T Day
I lOVE Asian food! I will be checking out these books at the library. Thanks for your suggestions.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Hi Mae, I used to cook a lot of Asian food but not so much now. The fish looks very good even though I don't eat fish, and the bao looks like it turned out good too. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
Well your experiments with Asian cooking look darn good Mae! And thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment. Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb
Oh my! It does look like a lot of work but the results look incredibly delicious! It must have been fun too, Happy T Day, Chrisx
My stomach is growling!
I need to get tamarind paste!
Thanks for this delicious post
I'm coming to your house for dinner! I'll bring wine.
