A Walk Through Graffiti Alley

Swirling with color and form, totally chaotic, no one’s personal creation dominates this growing collection of spontaneous graffiti. It always changes while it never changes. It fills the passageway between two streets downtown, and has spilled over into the parking garage. One artist hides the work of another.

On the University of Michigan Campus: a new mural installation of enlarged charcoal sketches.
I will post a more complete review of this exhibition when it is fully available.

I see a lot of Murals like the one on the Michigan campus. I'll try to take more photos of graffiti this week. I'm surprised I didn't see a lot more on my Chicago trip, although I didn't have a car, and the times i was on electronic bike made it difficult to take pics.

I've never seen such a cool alleyway with art like this. I like it.

Amazing how the graffiti covers other graffiti. I guess the artists take their chances on their masterpieces being painted over.

I really like the one on campus. I'm not exactly crazy about the graffiti.

So much to see - I guess one can spend a long time here, discovering something new all the time.

Love the last one most.
Hmmm. Graffiti is... more a form of aggression to me?
So many houses here get tagged like that, not a joy to see (my humble 2 cents).
The one you pointed out is a mix of both, very interesting and outstanding.

I remember that when we stayed in Ghent Belgium our tour guide book suggested their Graffiti Alley -- we walked it, but gosh, there were so many other wonderful things to see there I couldn't believe they suggested it. .... Different strokes.. I guess.
