June, 2025: In and Out of My Kitchen

 New in My Kitchen

A small milk pitcher. New one next to the larger one I’ve had for some time.

Two of these plates are new, by Ann Arbor potter Maki Lin.
I had four of them already.

A Few Things We Have Cooked in June

Some by me, some by Len

Shrimp and salad with a closeup of the new plates.

Spaghetti and meatballs.

Len’s baking: a cinnamon roll.

Walks along the Huron River

How we look from the drone. Photo taken Saturday at Hudson Mills Metro Park on the Huron River.

Little girl who was fishing in the Huron River.

Feather in the grass on Sunday.

Water lily in the Huron River at Gallup Park on Sunday.

Dinner at Miss Kim

We had dinner at Miss Kim on Sunday night with all of our out-of-town visitors: Arny, Tracy, Elaine, and Larry. On Monday all of them are leaving our area for further visits with relatives elsewhere. It’s been good having all of them here.

I've said this before. If only I could eat as well as you for a week. Not only do you have an amazing amount of food, it is all different and much of it more expensive than anything I could buy. I always leave hungry when you show your meals.

Your herbs are doing great. Your chives are thriving and your parsley looks healthy. Mine died when I brought it outside this spring. I promise to show some of the herbs I use one of these days.

I was surprised the girl was fishing in a dress. Rather strange, I thought.

Love your new pitcher and dishes/plates.

Your food always looks delicious. I especially would enjoy the Hoisin garlic noodles. Enjoy you new smaller milk pitcher which is so charming. I was going through the basement storage and came across a little milk pitcher in the shape of a piggy? that was mine when I was a little girl. Not sure a lot of people use milk pitchers anymore like they used to. Have a great week and thanks for a lovely post.

I love your new little pitcher and those plates. The blues of the pitcher are pretty and I love ceramics. It looks like a super month Mae. Good food, lots of walks, and your herbs look amazing. Happy July. Hugs-Erika

that small jug is so lovely Mae, and I love the other ceramic plates too. They make me think of abalones for some reason. And so much good food here too! The steak looks tasty as does the chicken and the omelette! Delicious I bet. Len is a great baker obvs :) Thanks for joining in this month again. Much appreciated. Sherry x

Quite a mix of yum and beauty! Hmmm, will the dress still look pretty if the girl really catches a fish?

Each month the meals you share look delicious and such variety! But those plates really caught my eye, I love pottery and if we had the room I would have more, and it would all be my daily disheware. Very nice.

Your milk pitchers look lovely, I like to use those for egg custard as well. Your dinner plates are very elegant, love the pattern.
The herb garden is flourishing, it's so nice to be able to pick one's own herbs,!
Hope you have a really nice weekend Mae. Take care.
