We have eaten dinner at our hotel for the last two nights, once at a Peruvian restaurant, once at the main hotel restaurant with Costa Rican Specialties. We’ve been especially fond of the fish and seafood, which are local and very well prepared, such as the Peruvian tuna dish below.
One Costa Rican dish is chicken and rice, which the hotel restaurant served quite beautifully, as shown below. We also ate it in a much more modest cafeteria on the grounds of the rainforest park where we watched birds and a few monkeys. The cafeteria ladies just ladled rice and beans onto our plates, along with a grilled chicken breast, and also a choice of salads such as chopped tomato with onion.

Grilled palm hearts with lettuce and tomato and a fabulous passionfruit dressing. I also drank a passionfruit mojito— but no photo. |
Deep-fried seafood. The seafood soups were also delicious. |

Yummy! I want to try those gorgeous tuna and the fried seafood looks very inviting too.
I have never tried palm hearts before. I shall have to look for them here and grill them.
Chicken and rice can be such a wonderful dish! Simple, basic food that can have extraordinary flavor. Sounds like you're having a wonderful time!
