“The Great Blue Heron is North America's largest heron, a tall, blue-gray wading bird with long legs, a long neck, and a dagger-like bill.”
“The Sandhill crane is a large, gray wading bird known for its long legs, neck, and a distinctive red patch on its forehead, with a loud, rattling call and elaborate courtship dance. Found in North American grasslands and wetlands, they are omnivores that mate for life, and their impressive migration is a well-known natural spectacle.”

A perfect walk in the park! Glad your late winter/early spring weather allowed for it! Thank you for sharing.
Now that's a walk in the park!
I was lucky enough to see sand hill cranes in Nebraska migrating south for winter. Spectacular and LOUD!! You found even more during YOUR walk. Awesome.
What a nice place to walk and take photos. Fabulous.
I've never seen a sandhill crane, though I've read of them. What a sight
The muskrat looks cute and passive. Are they the same concern to homes that rats are?
It must be exciting to see those sandhill cranes. And it's always so amazing how herons nest up in trees. It seems like it would be difficult for them with those long legs. Great photos Mae.
Hello,
The muskrats are cute. Great captures of the Herons and Cranes.
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
Especially the Muskrat is cute!
This was a fabulous walk with lots of sightings. I really love that musrat and fun seeing the herons in the tree.
