This looks like a great protest. I couldn't go today as I had a family event, and I feel a little guilty because I should have been there. Thanks for sharing these Mae. And glad you made it. hugs-Erika
So glad you were able to go and participate. It rained here all morning through mid afternoon, or I would have checked to see if ours was cancelled or not.
Our Indiana county is small and most Purdue students are gone for the summer, but "Organizers behind Tippecanoe County's "No Kings" rally estimated up to 3,000 protesters were present Saturday morning, marching and chanting from one side of the Wabash River to the other".
I like reading all the NO KING signs, One of my favorites was the one starting off with Nobody paid me, I dislike dictator for free. Take care, have a wonderful week!
Actually, if you examine a constitutional monarchy today. a good case could be made that you do need a king! And then a parliamentary system of government, with a Prime Minister, who has to daily face the opposition during Question Period in the House of Commons. Can you imagine how Trump would fold if every day he had to answer direct questions from people like Jamie Raskin, Amy Klobuchar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Adam Schiff - and others? From what I saw on television the protests went off very smoothly, with little confrontation, and in many instances seemed like a street party. Whether they were successful or not will depend on actions that follow. If nothing changes it will have been for naught. I think a complete boycott of his obscene military parade would have been the best protest of all.
So many clever signs! I am glad all went well for you. I fearfully went along with two friends, and I had a wonderful time. I will do better next time.
Bravo, j'espère que la situation basculera bien vite. Ce sursaut est très rassurant contre le régime policier de Trump. Ce qui se passe depuis janvier est si consternant et effrayant.
