Peony Garden 2025
This year’s peonies are just beginning to bloom. The garden has a remarkable collection of peonies dating back over 100 years, and a staff of gardeners and researchers. |
On the hillside above the peony beds, rhododendrons are in full bloom. |
Lots of folks taking selfies! |
Now for some peonies… |
Peonies originated in China, as exemplified by this 12th Century vase. |
And in our small garden at home…
Among our new potted plants: lavender. |
Outdoor Dining
After weeks of cold weather, we finally managed to eat lunch outdoors. |
Getting ready to grill our dinner. First time this season. |
Grilled vegetables, bread, and steak with mustard. |

Take care, Happy Memorial Day! Have a great week ahead.
Those gardens would certainly thrill me! What gorgeous peonies.
Your dinner looks amazing! We are cooking out tonight too, but just chicken.
I sure love peonies! Mine are coming into bud.
Our peonies are looking robust and healthy. I am sure we will have great blooms this year.
Beautiful pictures. You garden is coming along nicely as well.
You found some brilliant blossoms. That steak looks pretty good.
Beautiful flowers and herbs. My mouth waters.
Very cool. Peonies are one of my fav flowers. So beautiful!
We've yet to eat outside but hopefully next weekend. I've been cooking at home since Rick returned. The arboretum looks beautiful!
Beautiful flowers and delicious food - a perfect combination!
I love peonies, I was actually cutting a few of mine yesterday so I can enjoy them in the house instead of the wind battering them to bits. Your lentil salad and grilled veggies look yum. Thanks for your comment today, I didn't see you on the T linkup.
The gardens (yours and the arboretum) are just beautiful. I like your small garden. I love a nice potted garden. I hope you're having a lovely week, and not a lot of cold or rain.
Fabulous post. I love Peony garden. The food looks so good too.
I have never seen flowers so beautiful as that here. I wonder if they are the same kind as the one in this photo, a flower I saw when I was traveling: https://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/2024/07/why-i-love-paris-my-favorite-photos_01021085470.html
