Library books. I have read one so far. UPDATE: I read 100 pages of Girl, Woman, Other. It had no plot and I lost interest. |

A very old favorite! With a puppy for Eileen. |

Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. Not usually a sci-fi fan, I still found this an enjoyable read. Yes, the contradictions of time travel! Yes, life on distant planets! |

Trust by Hernan Diaz. Nested stories that constantly surprised me! Especially the surprise ending. |

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett. Twins are always a good metaphor for something. Good read! |

The Adventures of China Iron by Cabezon Camara. I really did not like this book at all! Very forced and mannered writing. |
Reading now: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. Finished it: it’s good. |
And In Our Neighborhood
Finally: A few spring flowers among last fall’s dead leaves. |
“Bombay Fish Tacos” at Cafe Zola. Mango with Urfa Pepper is delicious! Evelyn had shakshouka, Len had the mezze platter. All good. |

Hello,
The Little Golden Books are a treasure, my grandchildren would love the Porky Little Puppy book. You have a nice variety of library books to read. Glad you had a nice visit with Evelyn, the tacos look yummy. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
I still have some Little Golden Books I bought in Australia (have never seen them in Germany).
It is always refreshing to know that some people still read! I wonder if Trump ever read a book in his life?
I love Poky little puppy. I collect children's books and have quite a few Golden books. I love them all!
I remember as a little girl watching the Egg and I a couple of times on TV, I don't guess I realized it was a book also
I liked Vanishing Half and LOVED Eleanor Oliphant.
I have had Girl, Woman, Other on my to be read shelf for a very long time, but for some reason keep skipping over it.
I book group had a good discussion from The Vanishing Half -- yep, good metaphor!
Good book pics. You've picked some good ones. I like to see signs of spring -- they aren't here yet. Hope you had a nice visit.
Oh the Poky Little Puppy is a book I've forgotten all about. It's a wonderful story. And I liked Trust as well as The Vanishing Half. The twist at the end of Trust surprised me too. Eleanor Oliphant is a great book too. I hope you're enjoying it.
I feel like The Vanishing Half has been on my TBR forever. Your lovely pictures of flowers give me hope! Thanks :)
I picked up a copy of Trust at my favorite library bookstore a few weeks ago, but I haven't gotten to it. I enjoyed the character of Eleanor Oliphant. She reminds me now near happiness can be to us, and how we often spoil our own joys.
Our (non-native) azaleas are blooming, and all the seeds are popping up here. I love spring.
Looks like some great books that I need to check out. Glad you had such a nice time with Evelyn. We have daffodils beginning to put on a show.
Trust is my books club's selection for the month. I think it should generate a good discussion. What did you think of Eleanor Oliphant. I was really moved by it. The Vanishing Half wasn't a favorite book. Not sure why not, however.
I thought Trust was so well done - a favorite the year I read it! I also enjoyed The Vanishing Half. Girl, Woman, Other has been on my shelf for quite some time. I'll be curious to hear what you think if you get a chance to read it.
Looks like a nice mix of reading. Have a great week!
Yay for spring flowers! I've seen Eleanor Oliphant around. It looks good. Have a wonderful week!
