In the dining room: bananas — normally not here, but we have guests this week. Avocados are also ripening for a special Mexican dinner. |

Outdoors it’s rainy, grey, and mostly dampish-cold but still above freezing. Inside the greenhouse at the Botanical Garden, the chocolate trees are laden with cocoa pods. Early explorers couldn’t believe the pods grew right on the trunk! |

A number of the exotic plants were in bloom. |

It's hard to believe uit is wiunter uiin your world. Thanks for taking us to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
An indoor botanical garden sounds wonderful right now. And nice company too.
Hello
Lovely images from the botanical gardens. Great photo of your visitors.
Happy Sunday, have a happy new week!
Winter is the best time to visit a botanical garden.
i bought some avacados this week as well. things seem to be go swimmingly when avacados are in your life. My son loves to sing this meme 'Avacados from Mexico' over and over again, it's contagious.
Good grief. I swear I can spell. Apparently, I can't type or proof read!
I also have bananas and avocados together to quicken the ripening. Let's hope it works in time.
So nice to have your blog visit! I LOVE the photos of the plants. That cocoa tree is totally amazing!!! Hope your week is a great one!
Such a lovely way to spend time with your 'girls'. Who is the banana eater?
Great pics! Starting with the avo, hmmmm.... and wow, your visitors sure are one family!
When I´m fir again I´ll check if the botanical garden is open. Reckon I cannot top your pics, but this is no contest, right? It´s about sharing and making smiles, that you did :-) Thank you!
There is a real facial resemblance in all those beautiful women. A generational gem!
I'm so glad you were able to get together before the girls head back to school. Love the photo of the four of you! Yup. Definite resemblance!
Chocolate pods! How cool is that. Never seen them in real life. Cheers, Ivy.
