We spent the day at the Huntington Botanical Gardens, Library, and Museums in San Marino, a fairly short distance from our hotel in Pasadena. The gardens are breathtakingly beautiful. We especially enjoyed the Japanese and Chinese gardens, which include several styles of Japanese landscaping as well as extensive Bonsai collections and a traditional rock garden with a raked gravel surface. A number of species of birds, including several types of introduced parrots and parakeets, inhabit the garden. Eventually, I will blog more about this very lovely place, including many more photos.
