Del Mar -- a seaside community next to San Diego -- has its own small farmers' market on Saturdays. I was there with my friend Phyllis yesterday. The peaches looked beautiful but not quite ripe. She bought eggs and a few other items. We were startled that there were no tomatoes, but maybe all of them had already been sold before we arrived.
