After the Storm

Earlier this week, a violent storm tore through town. Our immediate area was very lucky, but there was quite a bit of damage in a few other areas. The front wall of a skating rink a few miles from here was ripped off by the strong winds, and quite a few cars were crushed by falling trees.

Rain has continued on and off. The weather hasn’t stopped the flowers and flowering trees from continuing their spring blossoming.

An azalea blossom covered with raindrops.

A fallen tree around a quarter-mile from our house. (Woman walking dog for Eileen’s Critters!)

Cyclists pass by a fallen branch. Photos in the paper show vehicles crushed by much bigger tree limbs.

Ephemeral blossoms on a weeping cherry tree a day ago.
By now most petals have fallen.

That's what you get for pissing off the Pope, Trump! He's got friends in High Places!

I love that photo of the azalea flower and raindrops -- such fragile and delicate petals!

I'm sorry the storm hit your area so hard. It seems the flowers can survive most storms. I only wish your last photo was true.

Wow -- you guys got nailed. We got the rain part but not so much wind, though there were tornado watches out (no warnings). I'm glad your home was safe.

Looks like it was a pretty nasty storm. Like the Magnolia flower, nature always bounces back.

Hello Mae :)
I'm glad you, and your house, and car are safe. That was a horrible storm.but the flowers survived looking wet but beautiful. That last photo is wishful thinking but well deserved.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend
All the best

Oh, T-shirt-weather? After a scary storm, that´s good and yes to the last one, that must´ve happened a lot of times, I reckon... That would explain a lot.

If only those branches had fallen on the orange one instead of the cars. That one house was sooooooooo lucky. Glad your immediate neighborhood dodged the mayhem!

Storms and bad weather in general seem to be more prevalent all over the world. Fallen trees, fallen walls, so much damage, too terrible! Love the photos of the flowers.
