A few photos from the Safari Park

We spent the day at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which is about a 40 minute drive from the city. I was especially happy to get to see the duck-billed platypus in its very dark enclosure to accommodate the fact that it's nocturnal. It was swimming next to the glass that separates it from the viewers, so I could see it very clearly, but photography would be impossible. The following photos were taken with my iPhone. My camera photos will be for another day.

A gorilla was having a snack.

A mongoose -- another animal I especially wanted to see.

The tiger.

Many wild birds live in the park, including this roadrunner.

The marsupial enclosure has no barriers. Signs say not to touch the animals.

The San Diego zoo is wonderful. I was there back in the 1980's, I am sure it has changed a lot. Great photos, it is nice to see the wild birds in the park. The Road Runner is a favorite.
Take care, have a great day!

Read through your last few posts, and thanks for the memories. We did a lot of the same things when we visited years ago. I love the wild animal park, and Museum Hill. You make me want to go back.
