Watching a lot of TV

“Elsbeth” Season 3 is much more comical than the previous seasons — we watched one more this week. The effective detective still wears unusual hats and carries 3 shopping bags. A very fun series!

Nero Wolfe and his trusty sidekick Archie now speak Italian (with subtitles). It’s a little strange, but watchable. I’ve only seen one episode.
One Boring Book

The Hollow Man: by John Dixon Carr: A Classic. Also a very boring book. I forced myself to at least scan to the end.

I unplugged my TV a year ago because I never watched it. I spent too much time on my iPad and phone, so I need to rest my eyes sometimes.
My TV is on from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. I'm not always watching it. It is more for background noise. But I do actually watch some great movies and series. Love the Halloween pics.
I love Elsbeth, great series. Not much into cooking shows. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.
I totally get the struggle with a boring "classic". It feels wrong to give up, but sometimes scanning to the end is the only way to save your sanity. Glad you made it through The Hollow Man.
I love the Halloween walk around your neighborhood. I was in one area of town and I turned the corner and saw Jason staring me straight in the eye with a spotlight on him in the pitch black dark and I really had to second-guess whether it was Halloween season or not, and was totally freaked out.!
By the way, Halloween seems to be getting earlier and earlier every year because this weekend there were so many trunk or treats. I think Halloween is falling on a Friday and everyone is probably doing possible to make Halloween safe and they probably don’t want kids out after school late at night on friday I guess.
Love the yellow pumpkin-skeleton! Boring books I leave the moment they really bore me.
LOL, that mask is really scary!
Happy Halloween! Take care, enjoy your day and have a wonderful week.
It's really nice seeing all the pumpkins and decorations around your neighborhood. Very festive. And there's nothing worse than a boring book!
I usually like John Dickson Carr but I think I'll give that one a pass! Definitely scariest mask ever. I love your neighborhood. Thinking of getting netflix again, though I am finding old episodes of GBBS on Roku andit's been so long they seem fresh!
I'm with you about the Bake Off. I really like the contestants, but other than having to eat some chocolate during chocolate week, I haven't wanted to make any of their recipes. It's fun to see all the Halloween decorations too. In another week they'll be gone and people will probably start putting out Christmas things. :(
I don't think I've read that John Dickson Carr... I've really liked some of his books, but I hated them at first, and I'm getting the impression his work's pretty uneven. He was very prolific, so that happens with some prolific authors, I guess.
I'm glad we have choices for TV.
Twenty-five years ago I decided to minimize my tv viewing. Instead, I like the use the time to write and draw and read. We are tuning in for the Great British Baking Show and Maigret right now.
It occurs to me that an awful lot of pumpkins are never used as food - and that seems like a real shame.
