Friday Wrap-Up

 Unfinished Books This Week

I’m not making much progress on this book —
I might switch to another one!

Also read part of this book. I hope to do better next week!

What We Have Been Eating

Rhubarb sauce — a spring favorite!

We decided to make this Israeli specialty for lunch one day, as I noted in an earlier blog post.

I had the Greek salad. My friend Elaine had a bacon & egg sandwich.
Nothing was exceptionally good. The fries were served cold.
Note to self and Elaine: eat lunch elsewhere.

I met my friend Abby at the Argus cafe for coffee and a long conversation.
I also bought the rhubarb here. Argus has two store fronts in one block,
one with coffee and the other with farmers’ produce on consignment.

Along the Huron River

Little goslings are cute, but unfortunately they grow up to be geese. Filthy creatures!

Graffiti along the river walk. For Sami’s murals and graffiti.

Further down the river: a mallard duck inspects a swan’s nest.

Too bad the books didn't wow you so far, but otherwise it sounds like a good week. And that swan's nest is quite large, isn't it?

Pity about the Greek salad. That's one of my favorites but a bad one is just unexciting. Lovely looking sandwiches!

Yummy food! I now find time to read - lying down.... (back-pain).

Hello Mae,
Sorry about the lunch, We take our chances with new places.
I love the goslings and yes the adults are messy.
The swan is lovely, maybe she has some babies too.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Nice photos. Too bad about the restaurant. I do like all of the graffiti.

I read Wondrous Life ages ago and remember liking it even though it is odd.

I had to stop in the middle of the road to let a family of geese cross. The goslings are cute!

Good luck with your reading. I bailed on Wondrous Life, but that was probably just me. We don't have anything except domestic geese here, so I was delighted to see migratory geese twice this spring.

The goslings are so sweet, and the swan nest is cool! Enjoy your reading :)

This the swan build that nest? It is huge! I've never seen a swan nest before. Spring is certainly here!

There’s nothing worse than cold fries!
I hope your next book grips you.

Always a shame about books that promise something and then disappoint. But: it dosent matter

Too bad about the poor lunch, but with unknown places you take your chances. The Sabich Israeli sandwiches look good. I'd never heard of them.

Sad about the note... had some encounters like that here, too.. at least nice chat :-)

Sounds like it wasn't a good week for reading. Maybe one of those will turn around and become enjoyable.

My grandparents grew rhubarb. For some reason, I just never cared for it, no matter how many ways my grandmother fixed/cooked it.

Thanks for sharing your disappointing meal at Benny's and your drink with us for T this Tuesday, dear Mae. I'll try to remember to take photos tomorrow when I water my herbs.

Cute goslings. The swan in her nest looks so regal.
No, to cold fries.

Cold fries are disgusting.
Baby geese are adorable!
Too bad that New York book wasn't good...I read the summary on Goodreads and it sounded so promising!
I looooove rhubarb.
