Ordinary Days

Eating Out

Friday lunch at the Guernsey Farms Dairy Restaurant in Novi, Michigan.
The cow mural in the entryway is so great, I have to share it with Sami’s Monday Murals.

Food and Wine hosted by our neighbors.

Birds and Flowers at the Botanical Garden

A Sandhill Crane.

New Food Books

America Eats by William Woys Weaver was published in 1989. It’s full of good information about historic foodways, and also indicates a lot of possibilities for continuing research. Much has been done in the ensuing decades!

  6. Charming Guernsey mural. Your meal looks rather fattening there.

Ah, wine and I'm guessing Len's bread. Love the plates. Hope you join us for T Tuesday.

What amazing bird photos. And it looks like the price of shade annuals is about the same as what I paid for herbs.

Woodworking. You are after my heart.

That book on Agatha Christie's dishes sounds like a great read.

  8. You have sandhill cranes? That's cool. We don't have them here in NH. And that greenhouse would be dangerous for me-grin. How do you like the Agatha Christie cookbook? I have that book too. (That's the second book we've both read/seen in the last few weeks, isn't it? Happy new week Mae. hugs-Erika

  10. Beautiful mural and I am hungry again! I got containers for hanging, assembly was tricky and.... they are too small!!! Darn it! But I´ll find a solution!

  15. I bet Len brought the bread! It looks fabulous -- Guernsey has the best ice cream EVER. We go every year around Thanksgiving when we hit the greens market. But I really miss their broasted chicken and never bonded with the new decor, though more used to it now. NOT used to NO BROASTED CHICKEN!!!
