All the dog owners near us walk their dogs to the two acres of empty property next door to us. One of the dog owners always, always, always is on her phone.
I do enjoy seeing the dogs and their owners each day.
It makes me so sad when I see people on their phones and not interacting with their dogs on their walks. Probably the only time the dogs get with their humans during the work week. Why even have animals or kids if you can't put down your damn phone to interact with them? Ugh. Sorry, but this is a major thing for me.
I am old. I cringe when I see people glued to their phones. They will have more than neck-problems (and we pay for that with our taxes as the health insurance is payed by all working people (here)). Sad the dog even copies this. Others cannot go outside without headphones on. Why listen to your surroundings.... Ack. I am old, and I am glad!
Love the dog walker series, I love dogs. We see dogs here on the trails, most are usually friendly. I had to laugh at the people on their phones. Some times I have my phone out and on the Merlin app to id the birds I am hearing. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a wonderful week. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Most of the dog walkers in my neighborhood have their heads bent looking at their phones. We do have a couple of them though who just walk the dogs without a phone and are always game to chat if I am in the front yard.
I'm guilty! But usually when I have my phone when I'm out walking (no dogs), I'm either listening to an audiobook or podcast, or playing Pokemon Go, or both. (As well as tracking my distance and heart rate and all that.)

We have a lot of dog walkers in our neighborhood too. We don't have fenced yards so the dogs really do need their exercise!
ReplyDeleteNot so many dog walkers here, mostly fenced acres. Occasionally loose wild pigs and chickens though.

Is the dog's drooping posture a deliberate imitation of his owner's mobile-addicted stance, or is it just a coincidence? Cute photos nevertheless!
ReplyDeleteLOL Out in the 'burbs there's a lot less dog walking. I can think of less than five regulars in our neighborhood...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the man in the last photo lost a dog, I hope not!
ReplyDeleteI see many dog walkers around here. I haven't really noticed that they are on their phones, but I wouldn't be surprised.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like our neighborhood, lol!

ReplyDeleteThe dogs are retrieving messages left by other dogs! 🙂
ReplyDeleteNo words were necessary. But I agree with what you could have said. (making a mind-reading leap here).
