Garlic Scapes


On the Grill... 2 minutes. Olive oil, lemon juice & zest, and a few tomatoes tossed with the grilled scapes. 

I had never tried these before, though I've seen them at markets. Other recipes say to stir fry them... maybe next year when they are in season I'll try one of those recipes. They do taste a little like asparagus and a lot like garlic, but mild.

    My CSA farm grows garlic scapes and I've been getting them for a while. I usually cut them up and use them in stir fry for a mild garlic flavor. They might taste best on the grill like you made them.

  4. These look really pretty on your bbq - I tried them for the first time last year and was surprised at how garlicky they were - a bit milder than the usual cloves but quite distinctive still
