Red-eye flight from Detroit to Paris last night. Delta's snacks now have cute sayings on them. In the bag: still the same old mini pretzels & peanuts. |
On international flights, they still serve a hot meal. It tasted better than it looks here! |
Meanwhile, the above photos are all I've really had to eat this weekend!
Hotel is on the ground floor... |
... seems quite nice. |
Looks like a gorgeous place! Ugh on the food.
ReplyDeleteWell, all I can say is "wish I was there", not the traveling bits, but actually being in place. Cute: "Appetites up, tray tables down."
ReplyDeleteHi Mae,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you made it safely albeit the delays. You better get some food in you and hubby, quick!!!
I don't know how far you are from Shakespeare and Company Bookstore in Paris but Johanna from Green Gourmet Giraffe just posted a wonderful review about this charming bookshop. Here's the link to her post.

Have fun Mae, and thanks for letting us know you're okay:)
I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty airplane meals on Turkish Air last fall! I'll bet your gastronomic experiences are going to improve quite a bit now that you're in France! Thanks for taking us with you on your trip!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the food will make up for the long wait. I advise purchasing lavender honey in Provence.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip! Cheers from Carole's Chatter!
ReplyDeletePoor you--long travel days are not a lot of fun but worth it in the end. Hope you get some good food soon and enjoy the trip. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOnly a touch of envy and mostly tons of joy for you to be on the road (or in the air or on the tracks) again -- and to such a wonderful place! Waiting eagerly for more!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you- the food on international flights always tastes better than it looks.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteWe took the red-eye from Detroit to Paris last March and the eating options look surprisingly familiar :)
By now you are enjoying some mighty good food. A shame you had to deal with sorry meals before arriving in France. I can't wait to see photos of your trip.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoy reading your posts about your French vacation and seeing all the photos from your wonderful trip…it looks very memorable. All that is except for the airplane food.
