oh a traditional Christmas dinner, complete with Yorkshire puddings (my late husband taught me to make those) and flambé-ed (how do you spell that?) pudding. I used to make my own Christmas pudding. It was a lot of work and by the time we got to the pudding, everyone was quite full. Happy Boxing Day, Lisca
I am always shocked when I see someone set food on fire. Bob Cratchit's wife does this in the version of A Christmas Carol we always watch this time of year. It's beautiful to watch. I wonder how it tastes.
This looks like the dinner I want to make. Especially the plum pudding and Yorkshire puddings. I need to master those this season. It looks like a wonderful afternoon with good friends.
Oh, fun! I love the idea of individual Yorkshire puddings. I admit, I never liked it, but then I only ever had my mother's and they seemed very bland. I should try again. And the flaming pudding, how perfect! Mom did that too, and it was so magical to us. I haven't seen one since. Your hosts prepared a fabulous meal!
It’s lovely to see everyone gathered around the table, from Len watching the carving to Carol making sure the wine is flowing. Those are the moments that truly make the holiday.
Merry Christmas! It looks like you had a wonderful time at South Lake.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like a tasty meal and similar to what my husband and I had. But no plum pudding for us. I'd love to try one one day. :)

Can't beat some Yorkshire puddings! Though my dad's given up on making them from scratch, ahaha. Hope you had a good Christmas!

Everything looks delicious! I remember the year my sister made a plum pudding. It was addictive. Especially the sauce she made to go with it.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a very British Christmas Dinner! It looks very tasty.

ReplyDeleteWe always have a plum pudding set on fire no matter what the temperature is. This year was quite cool but sometimes it is very hot!
