Thanksgiving is this week. Some cooking has already begun in my kitchen. Here are some images to get in the mood for the holiday.

That's a nice collection of Thanksgiving images. I hope you will have a good one. I'd rather eat chicken than turkey, and yours looks delicious. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThese are great vintage images. One thing that isn't myth in many of these are it's only the women cooking dinner. Not that's always true now. I guess your husband likes to do some cooking based on what you've shared in the past. But it's still fun to see these. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHello Mae,
ReplyDeleteI like the vintage Thanksgiving images.
I am cooking on Thursday for just 8 of us.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I love all these images. Yes! You're right about Grandma Moses but I never thought of it that way!
ReplyDeleteThese images capture both the myth and the warmth of Thanksgiving. From imagined early feasts to Grandma Moses’ charming depictions, they show how tradition and storytelling shape our idea of the holiday. It’s a lovely mix of history, art, and the cozy reality of family meals.

Very interesting images. I went online to find out about Thanksgiving, what it is and when it started. It's something we don't have in Europe. In the Anglican church there is a Harvest Festival, where we give thanks to God for the harvest. But it doesn't include a meal at home.
ReplyDeleteSo thank you for those lovely images.
