Gardens

 Our Garden is Changing

Thursday: gardening truck delivers plants…

… but almost the first hole the workers dig turns out to be a disaster for our cable for TV/phone/internet.
All the plants went back into the truck while we were hoping for a solution.
Remarkably, ATT came out and replaced the cable within two hours!!!

Friday: With Cable Fixed, Gardening Happens.

Some new and some old plants at the corner of the front yard.

New plants both in the front and back yards.

Here is one of our patio plants from a few weeks ago. I included my Rainbow Croc for fun.

Our rhododendron is still covered with blossoms.
It was already flourishing when we moved into the house.

A New Rain Garden in the Park

In the Neighborhood

In every garden we see squirrels.

Our neighbor’s planter boxes.

Hello, Mae
We used to hear from our utilities that it is important to check before digging. Your gardens looks beautiful. Love your cute crocs. Cute squirrel photo. The pink flamingos are popular, I have never seen them in the planter boxes. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Somehow, squirrels always look so cheeky...

Your garden's going to be lovely! I'm amazed at the cable getting fixed in just two hours.

Hi Eileen, You are right. The gardening company was indeed supposed to call the utility company about the underground wires before they dug holes for plants, but they messed up. We were trusting them to do what was needed.

That looks terrific. Bummer about the cable -- bad move on the gardening company. Hope they will cover the cost for whatever ATT charged to repair!

We were shocked by ATT — THEY CHARGED NOTHING for replacing the cable!!

Glad the cable is fixed and the new plants are in!

I love the squirrel. I followed your post from Saturday Critters. The cable being replaced for nothing is amazing.

a beautiful selection of plants!! when we had our construction company, we hit and broke many a line underground. even if you call for a markout, they are not always done correctly, or the workers ignore them. i like the rain garden and there is something about that flamingo house, it is a beautiful home!!

It can be quite dangerous to dig here without looking up the locations of underground things. There are lots of old pipelines and gaslines crisscrossing below us, and there can be an explosion.

What a marvel of new plants and flowers! And our vegetable garden is starting to play out---it's getting too hot.

It’s great that you are able to have others do this work for you.

The gardens look beautiful and I'm glad AT&T were able to fix the cable so soon!

What a wonderful but huge project. Were there two gardens? One at your home and one at the park? I can't believe how quickly the Cable people came to your rescue. That never happens (or almost never.)

Whew! So glad it wasn't on you to pay for repairs!

So that how it's done! Just call a man with a truck and plants! I have been doing this all wrong, lol! Seriously though, it looks beautiful, Mae. And if I could afford it, I sure would get my gardens done that way too. It gets harder every year.

You were incredibly lucky that ATT was on the scene so quickly. Your new gardens are going to be show stoppers. Landscaping sure adds value to a home. Wish I had a guy to plant my herbs and landscape my front yard after the gas company tore it up.

Love seeing all that green everywhere! Lucky the cable issue was able to be resolved quickly.

Have a great week!
