My grandparents on my Dad's side lived in Houston briefly---with my uncle who was a geologist for an oil company. That's actually where Grandpa died, in a collision with an oil truck.
It's always startling to me to go over the big bridge to Galveston where I see an expanse of sparkling Gulf water on one side and a huge oil refinery on the other.
