Amazing, but yesterday's election may not be nearly as bad as we feared. These are the two big results so far in my state, Michigan. The legislature result seems not yet decided. There are also several pretty good results nation-wide, though many are pending.
I was about to comment that Trump might be chastened by some of the results, but of course he won't be. He'll just blame others as he always does. I was especially glad to see your bold, principled governor win re-election, and appalled that DeSantis and Abbot could win again. It speaks volumes about the electors of those repressive, draconian states, with two governors who used migrants as pawns in a game of political oneupmanship.
ReplyDeleteNailbiter! I THINK the legislature may go blue. Fingers crossed. What a night!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy Gretchen is the winner! I think most people are not for the far right crazy politicians. I am keeping my fingers crossed for some other state elections like Arizona, Nevada and Georgia. Have a great day!
None of my folks won in Florida. I had hoped for Crist and Demmings but alas. Happy Whitmer won in Michigan!
ReplyDeleteJust saw the news. Baby Trump was whining it´s all unfair...
ReplyDeleteCalifornia also put the right to abortion in our Constitution yesterday and all my democratic/blue choices won from local to state level. It feels hopeful.
ReplyDeleteThat's great for where you live. My aunt lives in Florida, so not a good result for her.
ReplyDeleteNo waves, no landslides, basically a nothing-burger. Even if they take both houses, the GOP will not be able to override a veto, or stop a filibuster. And the armed crazies will have no reason to have a civil war. It is time for both parties to try to stop the craziness. And it is way past time for those responsible to be held accountable.
ReplyDeletegood to see a woman and who is a Democrat winning.
ReplyDeleteI've been saying put abortion on the ballot and you can't lose. Not all those votes are from women. More than a few men feel the same about their wives right to choose. Include climate change and the 18 - 25 group is there to vote. Biden's approval ratings may be low, but he knows how to get the vote out (yes, that is MY opinion).
