Rainy July Days

Rain brought mushrooms to our backyard.

We started a walk along the river, and saw a squirrel with an unusual white tail.

We had not walked far when it started raining hard.

We sheltered at the boathouse, which was closed because of "inclement weather."

A group of squealing children who were all soaked to the skin came back
from somewhere to the room where their day camp meets.

The swans on the river were not bothered.

… and the sun came out

Water lilies photographed from our kayak a day after the rain.

  1. Hello, Mae

The last scene with the waterlilies and pretty sky is a beautiful photo.
I love the swans. It is good you found a place to shelter from the rain.
Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend!

  2. What a nice rain! We are having drought conditions here, with one bit of sprinkle one morning being the only rain we've had in weeks.

  5. What an unusual squirrel. Love that tail.

You got rain! Lots of rain. Wow. Beautiful photos of the waterlilies. I hope they don't choke the river. They can be so invasive, yet gorgeous.

  6. It's rain usual for this time of the year for you? Those mushrooms don't look edible but have an interesting colour, as does the squirrel's tail.

  10. We have been desperate for rain here, and this in a part of the world that usually gets 55+ inches a year. So yesterday when we looked out and saw it raining in our backyard, there was some squealing going on.

Beautiful scene for a kayak ride.

  17. Hello Mae, :=) I just love your capture of the beautiful white tailed Squirrel. What an unusual sighting! The swans, and I think Signets swimming in the rain is a good shot. The toadstools are pretty, and the view across the water with the floating Water lilies is very
    beautiful.
    All the best.
