Along the path itself is a beautifully painted retaining wall. Street art! |
This chalk graffiti was probably intended as temporary, but it has not washed away. |
On the topic of graffiti: a cartoon by the great Roz Chast. |

Graffiti arrives unwanted, I think, and sometimes it's accepted and enjoyed and sometimes it is quickly vanquished.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder why so many trains have graffiti.
Like you, it's easy for me to tell the difference between graffiti and street art. I am NOT fond of graffiti and I hate when someone tags a beautiful mural.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the cartoon by Roz Chast.
I agree, there is a difference between street art and graffiti.
ReplyDeleteLove the cartoon and the wall. The graffiti not so much. Makes me wonder what it is in the Life of Brian where the Romans make Brian paint "Romans go home" on the wall a hundred times because in his first try he gets the grammar wrong!
ReplyDeleteThe retaining wall mural is quite pretty. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Mae.
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought, hey! That is stupid, ugly graffiti, no mural!
ReplyDeleteGlad I scrolled down ;-)
I like the idea of chalk graffiti. A good way to get kids outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI like the wall AND I love the cartoon!
ReplyDeleteI agree that street art and graffiti are mostly different things. Street art is usually commissioned by the Council/owner while graffiti is basically vandalism (and often really bad art)!
